Records
Near Mint (NM)
The record itself is in mint
condition. The cover and extra items, lyric sheet,
booklet, poster etc. are perfect.
Excellent (EX)
The record may show very slight
signs of having been played but disc cover and packaging
look near new.
Very Good Plus (VG+)
Very Good (VG)
The record may look to have been
played a few times but is still in very good condition. A
slight or very slight amount of wears and tears on the
cover or extra items.
Good (G)
Although showing some signs of wear
and tear neither record, cover nor contents display any
major defects.
Fair (F)
The record shows signs of playing,
the cover and contents show signs of creasing scuffing
etc. We would very rarely list a Fair record,
using the term only to describe covers. We never list
items Poor or Bad.
Books
Mint
As new, as it came from the
publisher.
Fine
Close to mint for recent books. For
older books the criteria are relaxed a little - the
condition is judged relative to the average or usual
condition of copies encountered; a fine copy is therefore
considerably above average.
Nice
Much as the word implies - clean
& pleasing to the eye and without significant defects
or blemishes - neat names or inscriptions are not usually
considered detrimental if unobtrusive.
Very Good, Good
Above average condition.
